« To say that February 2022 is intense is an understatement. February 2022 is like a volcano that is about to erupt.
The highlight of the month is the Venus-Mars conjunction in Capricorn. The two lovers will be holding hands in a conjunction orb for the entire month, which is unusually long.
The conjunction becomes exact on February 16th, when Mars, confident and determined in his exaltation sign, sweeps Venus off her feet. Our hearts awaken to the impulse to act.
Venus, still a bit asleep after the retrogradation, will slowly get back to her senses, matching Mars’ speed, and the two will be at the very same degree for a record of two weeks!
The two lovers will conjunct again on March 6th, 2022 at 0° Aquarius, with a renewed sense of purpose.
Until then, they must meet the King of the Underworld, Pluto. Pluto is the planet of higher truth – Pluto wants us to be brave and have our hearts in the right place. Our intentions must be crystal clear, stripped of ego. This is not an encounter for the faint of heart.
If a Venus-Mars-Pluto conjunction was not intense enough, asteroid Vesta – and on February 26th-27th, the Moon – join in for an apotheotic encounter.
Vesta is the keeper of the eternal sacred flame. The Moon is our soul.
When Venus, Mars, Pluto, Vesta and the Moon come together in a ritual of soul purification – that part of us that is true, our essence – will shine through, as Venus and Mars kiss in the morning sky. Things will become crystal clear as to what it is that we truly want.
This discovery may take us by surprise because it may speak about a part of our psyche that we shut down or don’t acknowledge much. The Sun, a symbol for what’s visible and acknowledged, is not part of the stellium. Everything happens before dawn. The Sun is missing from the picture.
This celestial event made me think of a German celebration called KocherlBall, translated to the Cooks’ Ball. Back in the 19th century, the working servants would meet in the summer months on Sundays, as early as 3:00 am to drink, dance and have fun under the moonlight – or candlelight.
By dawn, they would get back to work, just in time before their masters returned from church. This night celebration is a great metaphor for the lunar, creative, desirous part that drives our psyche sometimes in unconscious ways.
Just because the cooks and servants had ‘masters’ and obligations (Sun) didn’t mean they would not honor their Venus and Mars.
The Venus-Mars-Pluto-Vesta-Moon conjunction speaks to our humanity, to our wants and desires that we often suppress and don’t bring to our conscious awareness.
But this doesn’t make them less sacred. Vesta’s role is to remind us that our needs and wants matter, that they are alive, boundless and eternal. And that we must keep that sacred fire burning.
February 1st, 2022 – New Moon In Aquarius
On February 1st, 2022 we have a New Moon at 12° Aquarius.
The New Moon is conjunct Saturn and square Uranus. This New Moon will bring to the forefront some 2021 themes like Covid restrictions.
The good news is that this is the last lunation that features the dreaded Saturn-Uranus square. From March onwards we will have much friendlier themes to work with.
February 4th, 2022 – Mercury Goes Direct
Good news: on February 4th, 2022 Mercury goes direct at 24° Capricorn. Not so good news: Mercury stations close to Pluto, so this transit is as intense as you can get.
Of course, Mercury going direct is a great thing, since those topics that got stuck in the last 3 weeks will finally get unstuck. However, due to Pluto’s scrutinity, we want to be very mindful and truthful in how we move things forward.
February 5th, 2022 – Sun Conjunct Saturn
On February 5th, 2022 Sun is conjunct Saturn at 15° Aquarius. Sun conjunct Saturn is a serious transit that will test your commitments to your vision.
A conjunction is also a new beginning. We have one Sun-Saturn conjunction every year, and that’s your yearly opportunity to birth a new Saturn project. Saturn projects are any projects where hard work, commitment and mastery are required.
February 6th, 2022 – Mars Square Chiron
On February 6th, 2022 Mars in Capricorn squares Chiron in Aries.
Tense Chiron aspects trigger our insecurities. With Chiron square Mars, we may find it more difficult to assert ourselves, we may second guess our actions, feel clumsy or inadequate.
Of course, Chiron, the Wounded Healer brings also the opportunity to transform these insecurities into a gift. The square is an invitation to assert ourselves (Mars) with empathy, being conscious of how our actions impact others.
February 11th, 2022 – Mercury Conjunct Pluto
On February 11th, 2022 Mercury is conjunct Pluto at 27° Capricorn. The energy of this transit has been building up for more than 2 weeks.
This final Mercury-Pluto conjunction will come with a much-needed resolution and clarity. The conjunction can be experienced either as an empowering revelation, or as a requirement to surrender to a higher truth we’ve turned a blind eye on.
As the saying goes, the truth will set you free – but first, it may piss you off.
February 14th, 2022 – Mercury Reenters Aquarius
On February 14th, 2022 Mercury reenters Aquarius.
If you experienced some delays or setbacks in the 2nd part of January (from January 14th to January 27th) you may now find the much-awaited resolution.
Waiting can feel frustrating at first, but in retrospect, there’s always a reason why we had to put in a bit of extra effort, or wait a bit longer. Good things come to those who wait.
February 16th, 2022 – Venus Conjunct Mars In Capricorn
On February 16th, 2022 Venus is conjunct Mars at 16° Capricorn. This is a peak in the apotheotic journey Venus and Mars have undertaken in the underworld.
This is not the end of the story – Venus and Mars will continue to hold hands for a few more weeks – this is nevertheless a very important turn in their journey. Something will click. A commitment will be made.
Pay attention to what happens at the time of the conjunction – these could be insights, events or opportunities that will trigger something inside you – you may become aware of something that is very important to you – suddenly everything will make sense.
February 16th, 2022 – Full Moon In Leo
On February 16th, 2022 we have a Full Moon at 27° Leo. The Full Moon is quincunx Pluto, inviting us to shed what’s no longer vital and to find creative ways to express ourselves and our unique gifts and talents.
Being part of a community, fitting into society is of course very important – but not at the expense of who we are. There’s never either, or. Me vs them. We can always find a middle ground if we look hard enough.
February 18th, 2022 – Sun Enters Pisces
On February 18th, 2022 the Sun enters Pisces and the Pisces season officially begins! After a challenging Aquarius season when we’ve been mostly in our minds, the Pisces season is an invitation to get in touch with our emotions and relax into being.
This is the last leg of the solar cycle that began on March 21st, 2021. A new astrological year is just around the corner.
Until then, take advantage of the Pisces season to let go of what no longer serves you – keep only what you can’t leave behind.
February 26th-27th, 2022 – Capricorn Stellium
On February 26th and February 27th, 2022 the Moon joins Venus, Mars, Vesta and Pluto to form an intense, passionate stellium-conjunction in Capricorn.
The Venus-Mars-Vesta-Moon-Pluto encounter is so intense, that transformation is inevitable. By the time Venus and Mars are out of the underworld (on March 6th, 2022) you will no longer be the same person you were before you began this journey.
If you have planets or angles between 23 and 28 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Cancer you will experience this energy at an even more intense level. »
